Hi, feel free to talk with me by posting here --DizFreak 22:08, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, DizFreak, and welcome to the Simple English Wikipedia! I hope you will be happy helping here. You should begin by reading these pages: Wikipedia:Useful, Help:Contents, Wikipedia:Policies and guidelines, and how to write Simple English articles. If you want some ideas of which pages to work on, read Wikipedia:Requested articles or the list of wanted pages.

Even though it is a good idea to research an article (like looking at the discussion page) before making large changes, please be bold and try! Any changes you make that are not perfect can be fixed later. We are also working most on core articles and the most common topics until this Wikipedia grows.

If you want to ask a question or talk with other members, you can visit our version of the "village pump" at Wikipedia:Simple talk. Administrators on Wikipedia can also help you with more difficult problems. You can also ask me for help. The best way to do that is to leave a message on my talk page. You should always sign your messages on Talk pages by typing "~~~~" (four tildes) at the end of your words.

Good luck and happy editing! -- Creol(talk) 22:37, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Warnings[change source]

I just saw you warned a user for changes made to Socrates. Always good to fight vandalism. However, you gave the user a Test4 warning. The IP had previously been warned with a test3 warning a month ago. A new warning was justified, but we do have to assume the IP is a different user. I replaced your test4 with a test3 and placed the warning under a new heading on the page. Please let me know if you have any questions about me changing your warning. Thanks -  BrownE34  talk  contribs  18:32, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think you're doing a find job so far. It was just on the warning thing, we deal with a lot of kids on IPs from schools etc. I just felt the "one more bad edit and we'll block you" was a little quick in this instance is all. We usually don't get too worried about vandals unless there are multiple vandals attacking multiple pages at the same time. We have a small community here so it usually never gets too bad, a lot of kids school messing around like I said. As far as other things to do, a lot of articles need more info and there are lot more articles that are needed. Didn't want to discourage you in any way. Let me know if you have questions, keep up the good work. -  BrownE34  talk  contribs  18:49, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You didn't discourage me at all. I was glad you took the time to correct me and then let me know why. I'm glad to see that we have a nice small community here. The fact you took the time to go over to my talk page showed me that! It actually inspired me to continue to edit here as my primary wiki. I used to work at a college library where I was exposed to Basic English so I was very excited to see there is a wikipedia for these users. I am going to make a projects list now and then continue to work on vandalism as well as the 'current topics' area. Am I right in assuming these are the areas that need the most work? --DizFreak 19:16, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I would say that would be accurate. A lot of articles need expanding, edited, etc. There are still "core" articles that we need as well. Article expansion, article creation, and article cleanup (either copyediting or simplifying) is what we need the most, in my opinion. Always feel free to ask myself or another of the administrators for help. -  BrownE34  talk  contribs  19:25, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
