Birth date changes[change source]

Birth dates should always be mentioned next to the name as it was on Meredith Baxter and Edward Snowden, per w:MOS:BIRTHDATE. If an editor who has been around for a long time has made an edit you disagree with, it's probably best to check with them first instead of reverting them. --Ferien (talk) 21:33, 29 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Ferien: I do not understand why the same claim needs to repeated twice: Once in parenthesis, and once in very next sentence. Meredith Baxter (born June 21, 1947) […] is an American actress. She was born June 21, 1947 […] Could you explain to me why the same information has to be repeated multiple times? I understood the reasoning behind repeating information that is already present in an Infobox, but I do not understand why it is necessary to repeat it in Meredith Baxter. ‑‑ Kai Burghardt (talk) 21:42, 29 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
w:MOS:BIRTHDATE states that we should have dates of birth and death (if appropriate) in the opening paragraph. I removed the second one as it is in the same paragraph. In a longer article, it'd be ok to repeat the date of birth but here it is unnecessary. Thanks, --Ferien (talk) 21:48, 29 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
