Cape of Good Hope Station[change source]

Dear Navops47,

I came across the Cape of Good Hope Station article and saw your name in its history section. I have several questions: 1.) Was the Cape of Good Hope Station in Table Bay? 2.) The 1806 and 1807 expeditions to Rio left from Simon's Bay and yet it is stated the Royal Navy had decided to move its base to Simon's Bay in 1811. What was Simon's Bay before it was a naval base? 3.) Is a naval base the same as a royal dockyard in the above instance? 4.) Was setting up the Cape of Good Hope Station one of the instructions given to McCartney in 1806? 4.) Do you have any information about the origins of the Office of the Port Captain?

Thank you for your article.
