Welcome![change source]

Hello, Sean William/2006, and welcome to the Simple English Wikipedia! I hope you are happy editing here and being a Wikipedian. Some helpful pages to start you off are Wikipedia:Useful, Help:Contents and Wikipedia:Policies and guidelines.

If you want to meet and talk with other members, you can visit our version of the "village pump" at Wikipedia:Simple talk. Just remember that you should sign your messages on Talk pages by typing "~~~~" (four tildes) at the end of your words.

We have a special page that describes how to write Simple English articles. If you want some ideas of which pages to work on, read Wikipedia:Requested articles or the list of wanted pages.

We are also focusing on core articles until this Wikipedia grows. This list of topics will help show the types of topics we want most.

Even though it is a good idea to research an article (like looking at the discussion page) before making large changes, do not be afraid to be bold! Any changes you make that are not perfect can be fixed later.

If you need any help, send a message to an administrator on his or her talk page. Administrators on Wikipedia will try to help you with your problems and resolve them as soon as possible.

Finally, if you have any questions on how things work, don't hesitate to ask me. The best way to do that is to leave a message on my talk page. Good luck and happy editing! Archer7 - talk 09:45, 19 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Vandal sockpuppets[change source]

I'm afraid I can't really do much. If it carries on we'll get a CheckUser to find the IP range behind this, so we can block it for a while. If they keep coming back, evading blocks etc, it'll get more complicated and I'll be contacting their ISP, and they could be disconnected. It has to be really bad for that though, and I have to obtain Foundation permission etc to release the CheckUser information to ISPs, so I'd rather not. I'll try to be around here a little more to watch out for it, but I'm really busy at the moment... Archer7 - talk 23:29, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

RE:Target[change source]

Yeah, that might work. However, my needs are to get her account creating priviledges blocked, otherwise, she'll just vandalise other things. She doesn't just target me. Please block her for 12 months if you are an admin. Thanks. --Kimmy 02:59, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey look! Its a VANDAL![change source]

Feel free to stop? Do this all day? What do you mean? Kimmy, stop reporting me and let me vandalize 00:20, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm getting tired. Kimmy, stop reporting me and let me vandalize 00:21, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You are, it's only been ten minutes, I'll stop in 15 minutes. Kimmy, stop reporting me and let me vandalize 00:22, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm leaving. I'm the same person as Kimmy, stop reporting me and let me vandalize. I'll be back in several hours. Vandal-only account 00:27, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Right. I'll come back under another account tommorow. Or do you want me to? Ask around, conduct a survey, and report back to me about how many people want me to vandalize again. I don't know what to do, I hate this place. Vandal-only account 00:41, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
O.K. Bye, PulltoOpen and enjoy your time on Wikipedia while I do other fun stuff. BTW, I'm not related to any Anita's or Kimmy vandal's. I'm seperate. Vandal-only account 00:45, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pull - do NOT war with vandals. They crave the attention and bore easily. Spend your energy contacting an admin so that we can block them. -- Netoholic @ 02:15, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

User page[change source]

Hello! One of my aims with Esperanza was to eliminate divides in the community, (see Wikipedia talk:Esperanza. Would you mind removing your political views from your user page? Small things like that can really cause problems. Thanks, Archer7 - talk 08:55, 16 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Thanks for telling me. PullToOpen π/φ 15:44, 16 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Welcome Wagon[change source]

Hey, thanks for the Welcome Wagon! I'm a member of English Wikipedia, so I have a good understanding of how the wiki system works. If I do have any questions, I'll give you a shoutout! --Myselfalso 01:59, 21 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wikibreak[change source]

I am sorry to hear that you are taking a Wikibreak, but I look forward to seeing you again in the future. Billz (Talk) 21:07, 25 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you[change source]

Thank you for welcoming me to Esperanza. I have ideas. I'll make the community better. --Kimmy 03:03, 30 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for adding to my article that I'm working on. --{{User:Kimberly Ashton/Sig}} 20:44, 30 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Voting templates[change source]

Sorry, but your voting templates are something we need to avoid. They require too many resources (the transclusion and the image) for such a simple function, they make your votes seem more "important", and can be vandalised. -- Netoholic @ 08:22, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the comment. :) --TBCΦtalk? 21:11, 5 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

reverts[change source]

Thanks for the help in reverting the vandalism. It's quite hard to do them all by yourself manually. zephyr2k 14:41, 9 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

deletions[change source]

That page deletion needed no discussion:

Don't lecture me. -- Netoholic @ 20:22, 15 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Instead of biting, consider changing the policy. Considering there was already an RfD discussion open, it might have been *gasp* considerate to pay attention to the comments other users had on the page. Someone already said that the page should be kept and simplified. In short: change your demeanor. You're methods aren't very productive. The deletion policy SPECIFICALLY says that pages copied directly from english should be discussed. PullToOpen Talk/Contribs 00:21, 16 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
If you are expecting some argument wherein we go back-and-forth quoting "policy", then you won't get it. I explained my reasoning for this deletion above. An extended conversation about "principles" is not necessary. Truly, the only "policies" we must follow are meta:Foundation issues. Don't let policy get in the way of writing articles. Do you realize that already this wiki has magnitudes more pages about "policy" than on writing style guidelines or help pages? Don't you for a moment think that is backwards? "Simple" in our name should not just stand for our writing style, but also how we handle meta-issues. Simply. -- Netoholic @ 06:03, 16 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Warning[change source]

Here is the warning for what I mentioned before and I know you're aware of. Please make sure that all of your edits here go directly towards productive content improvement, rather than games. -- Netoholic @ 05:42, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You can vote on its Rfd here. :) Cheers!-- Tdxiang @ 03:54, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nelson Mandela[change source]

Please, put back the delete message, otherwise the history could be lost if the page is not properly restored by an admin. Thank you, M7 02:08, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Templates[change source]

Thank you for letting me know I'll only create important templates like infoboxes and Navigational templates and some language support templates. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Menasim (talkcontribs)

Adminship for me? Not yet...[change source]

Dear PullToOpen, thank you for voting in my Rfa. Netoholic has concerns. As such, I will not be pormoted to administrator status. However, I do not hold it against him. Once again, thank you for voting!— Preceding unsigned comment added by Tdxiang (talkcontribs) Tdxiang

You -have- to tell us admins about people like this. Death threats and sexual harassment are serious problems. How come you didn't tell someone about this guy? I only found it after checking out recentchanges. -- Netoholic @ 05:41, 9 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Edit wars[change source]

I didnt put the comment on User:Creols page because i saw him fighting an edit war. I just wanted to make the fine point (That ignoring vandals frusttates them most). All I saw him was do some reverts. -- Eptalon 23:33, 9 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Welcoming people to wikipedia[change source]

I disagree with what you said on my talkpage. Everyone should feel welcomed to wikipedia. Do you disagree with that? I am not only welcoming everyone who is new but I am also editing a lot to. God Bless.--Sir James Paul 01:36, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Barnstar[change source]

Barnstar Congratulations: You have been given a Barnstar!

I am happy to give you this barnstar because you have worked hard and have over 500 edits. Thats a big milestone. Thanks for your hard work.--Sir James Paul 01:57, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Esperanza on wikiquote[change source]

Can you please help me make a Charter for Esperanza that does not have the weaknesses that the wikipedia Esperanza has. Also I was wondering if you will be the projects first vice president. I need your help.Answer me on my talk page.--Sir James Paul 02:42, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Gopher killing[change source]

Actually, using dry ice is a relatively humane way of killing them off. Carbon dioxide poisoning is pretty much painless. Oxygen deprevation causes them to pass out and they die in their sleep. Most often they never even realize they are in danger, they just take a nap and never wake up. It is much more humane than trapping and poison.

Not exactly usefull information (unless you got a gopher problem), but I thought I would pass it along anyway. -- Creol 09:17, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Grazie (thank you) for fix the link to my userpage. I would be glad to assist you in any way shape or form I can. --AbbyItalia 01:36, 24 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • I hope you have noticed, but I have reverted a bad edit. Hope you do not mind! AbbyItalia

22:05, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

I agree with your stance. We dont need nonsense like furry fandom here. Who cares about that garbage? --Filll 02:26, 28 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Another Barnstar[change source]

Barnstar Congratulations: You have been given a Barnstar!

You deserve this: you have over 1,000 edits! Man, I'll try to catch up with you... I'll always be slower. Hey, have you ever thought about being a sysop? The editcounter said you were just a user. Thanks for your hard work-MoglinFiend 22:29, 28 November 2006 (UTC) 01:57, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Administrator[change source]

Congratulations, you have received unanimous support from the Community to become an administrator / sysop at Simple English Wikipedia. As you have noticed, our deletion policy has just been revised! I'm glad that this will make it clearer what pages should be speedily deleted, proposed for deletion, etc. Let me know if you ever need assistance with anything. Welcome to the admin team! Blockinblox - talk 02:05, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Congrats. -- Creol 02:11, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Can you please stop[change source]

Can you please stop going on my talk page and telling me to stop welcoming people to wikipedia. I'm going to keep on doing it because everyone deserves to be welcomed and feel welcomed on wikipedia. Have a nice week sir.--Sir James Paul 18:19, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It is not like I have not edited a thing on wikipedia. I have done 2 medium sized edits and many small ones that make the articles. If I would of had a welcome with some guidelines on wikipedia then I would not of made mistakes as much as I did.--Sir James Paul 18:32, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

List of Blocked Users[change source]

You mean this: Special:Ipblocklist ? Regards, Blockinblox - talk 19:33, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Blocking vandals[change source]

Usernames of accounts created for vandalism are normally blocked indefinitely. They are never going to be used for editing, so there's no point in blocking them for one or two days. Blockinblox - talk 03:05, 5 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Currently I am runing to become a sysop. The main reason why I want to become one is to better help in the war against vandalism, I believe in tougher blocks against vandals and after the 2 time they vandaliz an article I will impose a ban on them. I have a lot of free time so I will be a active sysop. At one point I had a average of 50 edits a day, now I have a average of 30 because I was busy and not able to edit. If you have any questions ask me on my talk page please. to vote go to Wikipedia:Administrators. Have a nice week and god bless.--Sir James Paul 21:05, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, I was too hastily trying to speedily revert all the vandal's contribs, luckily, I figured out that I somehow was on your contrib list by mistake, before I did too much damage! Good job in taking him out Blockinblox - talk 01:29, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

HOW WAS I SPAMMING[change source]

Telling someone to go out and vote is not spamming.--Sir James Paul 23:02, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

VANDALISM[change source]

In the spain article I checked the recent changes and someone added this where many people have sex and do weed or pot, many also jack-off. Is this considered vandalism? I'm going to take it out. Contact me soon. Thabks.--Sir James Paul 20:40, 7 December 2006 (UTC) He also added this to another article. ,coal, and cocaine.--Sir James Paul 20:42, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Recent blocks[change source]

Have you enable autoblocks with any of the recent blocks you've made? J Di 00:56, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Vandals[change source]

Somehow, it's better to protect the pages vandals target. Just a concern here because these vandals work on dynamic IPs.-- Tdxiang 03:52, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Other than these[1] are there any other policies I should know or is this all of them?--Sir James Paul 03:40, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • You said that the reason why you did not vote for me is because you do not trust me and you do not think I am here for the encyclopedia. Do you still think that? If you do what will I have to do to change your mind? --Sir James Paul 03:47, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What mistakes am I still making that people have told me I am making?--Sir James Paul 03:55, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Protect my page[change source]

I want you to protect my user page since someone deleted all the content.--Sir James Paul 03:51, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Removing revisions from history[change source]

Hi, sorry I haven't go back to you sooner. To delete revisions from the history, delete the page, then do a selective restoration. On the restore screen, tick every box apart from the one you want removing. It's a good idea to include the revert in that as well so it doesn't look strange on the history. Don't remove any other vandalism apart from stuff that really needs to go, other vandalism may be useful to others later. Thanks, Archer7 - talk 09:29, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

English[change source]

Hi, I am banned on English because my views conflicted with an American admin, we were both at opposite ends of the political spectrum, and his powers obviously gave him advantage --Chosongul 10:10, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Account creation[change source]

Yes I did disable account creation, but I am fairly sure that only lasts for the length of the autoblock (24 hours), not the length of the actual block. Do you think it's a good idea to reblock the IP? Archer7 - talk 20:39, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

AbbyItalia and Kimberly Ashton are sockpuppets[change source]

Shocking, but true. I indef blocked "her", after I discreetly requested for a steward to do checkuser on "her".-- Tdxiang 10:49, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Can you protect my page now.--Sir James Paul 22:59, 11 December 2006 (UTC) Bold text[reply]

Article deletion[change source]

Thanks for that... Are hoaxes always speedy deleted here? J Di 00:22, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Can you please speedy delete this page: User:Creol so that I can complete the recover from the vandal mess? Thanks a lot, M7 02:12, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I made an error in my user creation, could you delete this account so I could restart mine? --User:Ashley AND uSER:CopperTone01:56, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Am not Biana! Yes i am. but Why would i do that? It's not my sock, no matter what you think, it's your problem. --Ash (ley) (Email me) 04:40, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
