All articles need references and sources, but it's most important to make sure that articles that are about living people do. If an article says something about somebody that is not true and that is harmful, they could sue Wikipedia, or make Wikipedia look very bad. Many people read Wikipedia, and having false information about somebody can be very harmful to them.
English Wikipedia has been taking some time recently to make sure that all articles about living people have good references, and it would be a good idea for us to do so, too. If you see something in an article, especially about a living person, that you're not sure is true, or just doesn't look right, it's better to remove something that is true than it is to leave something in that is false.
