Wire
Wire is a long, thin and flexible piece of metal. Electricity can travel through a wire. They are all different shapes and sizes. The outside coating of electrical wires is colored. Different colors indicate different purposes, for example, in the United States, green or bare is a ground (earth) wire, white is a neutral wire, and black, blue, red, brown, yellow, and orange are hot (live) wires.
The word "Wire" can be also used "Wire money to a bank account". That means that money is transferred to a bank account.
A wire can also be when law enforcement puts a device into a phone or other electronic device to hear what suspected criminals are planning.
Copper wire is the best known type of wire but there is also aluminum and other metals. If we didn't have wiring almost all of our electronics would not be working or available.
