Hello all, I thought I would not bore you with tales of my Chrismas adventure, instead, I have written a poem, based on The Night before Christmas by Clement Clarke Moore.

All names are simply here to make the poem make sense, nothing personal.

I hope you enjoy it! Kennedy (talk) 20:48, 24 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A Wiki Wonderland

Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the wiki,
No-one was editing, not even ric-ky.
The DYK hooks were updated with care,
In hope that some newbies would see them there.

The editors were all nestled all snug in their beds,
With visions of vandals advertising their meds.
And Yotty in his ‘kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled our brains for a long winter’s nap

When out on the wiki there was such a smash,
Jimbo spilled his wine and the servers did crash.
Away to my watchlist I clicked with speed,
Alas no good, re-write the wiki, we need.

I sat with frustration, writing some text,
Creating a stub before moving to the next.
As I invented some elements for the table,
Some user did add a QD label.

Ignoring good faith to his talk page I swore,
As he laughed at my new, fantasy, ore.
While I begged him for his helping hand,
I wrote about my favourite MySpace band.

My horror subsided as more content appeared,
The dog got a fright as I punched and cheered.
I’m glad its fixed as I look for my pup,
We never knew that Santa has a backup

As he left the servers, the jolly old man,
His next stop was to a kid in Japan
But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he drove out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"
