I don't know why they were oversighted and the answers to the concern at the time were that it was basically a bad choice of wording (link). Having admins who post oversightable material then become oversighters isn't the best of looks for our wiki though, regardless of reasoning. Additionally, I don't see much of a need for oversighters at the moment and it was only in November you got CU again. Going from requesting admin to becoming checkuser and oversighter within 8 months is extremely unusual. I can't think of any other user that has gained checkuser and oversighter that quickly. I'm not going to go so far as to call it hat collecting, but you really need to slow down. We do not have any need for oversighters at this moment in time, we voted in a new one just a year ago. I also have major concerns with the way you have been using your admin rights: you accused a user you incorrectly blocked of personally attacking you when they didn't, it was only a month ago I had to ask for you to stop undermining other admin actions without explanation (which you're still doing), a few days ago you gave flood out for a user adding references and you are currently treating RfD as a vote which is behaviour administrators actively try to stamp out, yet here you are doing it anyway, ignoring what is written on the top of the RfD page. To be frank, this is below what I would expect from any administrator, let alone a checkuser wanting to be an oversighter already. With something like admin or rollbacker, there are very few downsides to having plenty of people so long as they are trusted/competent enough for it. But with oversight and checkuser, sensitive information is involved (which is why you have to be identified to the WMF and 18+ to do it) that is you could argue is better having in fewer hands than more. I can think of some cases where it could be a normal situation but later privacy concerns were brought in. I suggest Fr33kman to withdraw this for now, and try again a while later if they feel the project would still benefit from them having the tools. Currently, there is no pressing need for a new suppressor, and steward backlog are looking pretty clearly so we can turn to them if help is needed. It is actually a block for incivility. Very long and drawn out issue that even our sysops could not figure out what was going on and still do not. Agreed! Subpage transcluding

Hi there. Your subpage User:Davey2010/Dashboard is calling a protection template from somewhere. This is putting it in the category of Category:Wikipedia pages with incorrect protection templates. Can you fix it so it does not transclude into there please? There is a bot from Ferien that does this, however, that page does not have the code on it so the bot cannot remove it because it is being called from something else you have pulled. Ah okay I didn't realise that lol - I searched on EN and didn't get far, tested other things but they didn't remove the cat, Seen someone suggest noinclude, Gave up and decided to assume en:WP:ROLLBACK must be transcluded everywhere and checked out the protection on that page and yeah it was wrapped in that code so thought I'd try it and wish for the best lol.

Hi @PotsdamLamb, Of course you can, I should also add in case you try it - I've tried linking from the page nearest to the page cited (357) as well as used Wayback Machine and Archive.Is and nothing's worked (and using old Google books for linking/wayback/archive.is hasn't worked either) so my plan was to just leave it as it is,

I just felt an old black and white image and some background info on it sort of made it more verifiable than say a 2022 news article on it if that makes sense,

No worries. You can also apply to the Wikipedia library which gives you access to some more resources as well. That’s if you don’t already have it.

I’m indeffed on ENWP and I have access. If it doesn’t grant you access automatically I believe it allows you the option to request and you can mention it. Ok so I found the issues.

First, I ran the citation bot against it, which removed some unneeded parameters from the citations. There was still one issue which I had to manually fix. That was you had url-access=subscription twice in one citation. When I removed that, all the issues were gone and it reflects that all of your citations are good to go.

Two other minor things I did was changed the circa to about (simpler english, as c. is not really a simple word or meaning in most cases) and I rephrased that same sentence for ease of reading. You are more than welcome to revert those back.

I cannot remember the name off the bat, but I am sure someone may realize who it is. I have seen this before. This is in regard to Special:Diff/9478011 on VIP. If I remember correctly, they were doing this to music articles in late February/early March. They were so random so it is hard to pinpoint it. Might have to look through all the check users and changes to VIP.

The vandal case may be seen at Long-term abuse/Date-changing vandal from Poland. They used IPs from Poland such as Special:Contributions/31.0.37.29, Special:Contributions/31.0.41.56 and Special:Contributions/176.221.120.24, then they created the username Agnieszka1235. @Ferien, It does it looks way too perfect to be a brand new newb article, I've also come across Yksnamu who's uploaded images of subjects that Eceerp has created which seems slightly weird, Unfortunately over at en:Sarah Sugden (2005 character) her name's never been linked as far as I can see so I can't find anything to say this ever existed but for sure this definitely isn't a new article, If the article layout is different from the deleted articles and things like "Ref" (in table) aren't present in the deleted articles then that would confirm it's been copied/pasted from somewhere but without evidence I guess there's not a lot one can do, Thanks, –Davey2010^Talk 22:03, 23 April 2024 (UTC)

About this edit: special:diff/9503130, the only visible difference is his height (6 ft 7 vs. 6 ft 6). I'm not sure which is correct but enwiki says 6 ft 6. I see this as intentional vandalism, not a new page, so placing a quick deletion form is unnecessary and confusing. Regarding CU

Hi @DIVINE, Thank you so much for your kind words they really do mean a lot thank you, Unfortunately I'm happy just being a normal editor to be honest and I suspect my indef-block on Commons would sink the RFA anyway,

I would love to be an admin but admins are held to a much higher standard over us normies and to be honest being an admin means more things can wrong, Meh I'm happy being an editor but thank you for your kind words anyway they do mean a lot
