"6 Foot 7 Foot" is the first single off of American rapper Lil Wayne's ninth studio album Tha Carter IV. The song was released on December 16, 2010. The song also features American rapper Cory Gunz. It features a sample of the 1956 Harry Belafonte song "Day-O (The Banana Boat Song)".[1]
The song was able to make it to #2 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, #2 on the Rap Songs, #5 on the Rhythmic, and #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.[2][3][4][5] The song was certified 7× Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).[6]
In the song, Wayne raps about his charisma. He also raps about his label, Young Money and how much sex he has. During a radio interview after being released from prison, Wayne said that he wanted the song to show people his lyrical ability and Young Money president Mack Maine described it as "A Milli on human growth hormones."[7]
A music video for the song was released. It was directed by Hype Williams. It was heavily inspired by the 2010 movie Inception.[8]
