Ahmet Baitursynuly (Kazakh: Ахмет Байтұрсынұлы; 5 September 1872 — 8 December 1937) was a Kazakh poet who worked in politic, poetry, linguistics and education.[1] He was arrested in 1937, for hiding "bourgeois nationalist sentiments", and executed.
Early life and education
[change | change source]Baitursynuly was born on 5 September 1872, in Turgay Oblast and was educated from Orenburg Teachers' School. When he was 13 years old, police officers came to village and caused trouble. Ahmet's father and three of his brothers fought with Colonel Yakovlev, and as a punishment, they were sent to Siberia for 15 years.
