AKINWUNMI AMBODE

Akinwunmi Ambode (born 14 June 1963) is a Nigerian politician who as served as the governor of Lagos from 2015 to 2019. Ambode was a public servant for 27 years and a financial consultant before he contested as the governor of Lagos state.

Early life and education[change | change source]

Ambode was born on 14 June 1963 in Epe General Hospital,[1] to Mr Festus Akinwale Ambode and Mrs Christianah Oluleye Ambode. He is one of the ten children of his father. Ambode started his education at St. Jude's Primary School, Ebute Metta, Lagos State, Nigeria from 1969 to 1974, where he wrote his National Common Entrance Examinations. After his primary school education, he proceeded to Federal Government College, Warri, Delta State for his secondary school education from 1974 to 1981.
