Alden is a city in Rice County, Kansas, United States. In 2010 census, 148 people lived there.[6]

Alden was created in 1872.[7] It was a station on the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway.[8] Alden was named after Alden Speare, a railroad employee.[9] The first post office in Alden was established in 1882.[10]

Alden is at 38°14′39″N 98°18′41″W / 38.24417°N 98.31139°W / 38.24417; -98.31139 (38.244093, -98.311492).[11] The United States Census Bureau says that the city has a total area of 0.19 square miles (0.49 km2). All of it is land.[12]
