Angst is an emotion. It is an emotion of fear or anxiety (anguish is its Latinate equivalent. Anxious and anxiety have similar beginnings). The dictionary definition for angst is a feeling of anxiety, apprehension, or insecurity.[1] It is used in English to describe a strong feeling of apprehension, anxiety, or inner turmoil.
