Area codes 816 and 975

Area code 816 and 975 are area code in the North American Numbering Plan (NANP) serving the state of Missouri in the United States. It covers the Kansas City metropolitan area, including parts of western and northwestern Missouri. It was created in 1947 as one of the original area codes assigned to Missouri, originally covering the entire northern part of the state. It was split by 660 in 1997 and overlaid by 975 on October 13, 2023.
