Benthe König (born 2 February 2000) is a Dutch athlete from Velp competing in the shot put.[1]

König was talented from a young age. At a youth competition König threw farther than the measuring tape. "The organizasion had not taken into account that a pupil whould be to throw that far.[2]

In 2019 König won the silver medal at the 2019 Dutch Indoor Athletics Championships behind Jorinde van Klinken.[3] In that year she started working on a new technique. She competed in the shot put event at the 2019 European Athletics U23 Championships and finished 6th in the final.[4] At the 2020 Dutch Indoor Athletics Championships and 2021 Dutch Indoor Athletics Championships she won the bronze medal.[5]

Due to her position on the world ranking list, she qualified for the 2022 World Athletics Championships in the shot put event in Oregon, United States.[6][2]

König has three sisters, and all competed in athletics. Benthe was the only of the four who continued with athletics.[2]
