Birgir Ármannsson
Birgir Ármannsson (born 12 June 1968 in Reykjavík, Iceland) is an Icelandic politician affiliated with the Independence Party. He has been serving as a member of the Althing, Iceland's national parliament, since 2003. Ármannsson pursued higher education at the University of Iceland and furthered his studies at King's College London, establishing a foundation in law.

In his political career, Ármannsson held the position of Speaker of the Althing from 1 December 2021 until 1 December 2024, succeeding Steingrímur J. Sigfússon and preceding Ásthildur Lóa Þórsdóttir in this role.

On a personal note, he is married to Ragnhildur Hjördís Lövdahl (born 1971), and they have three children: Erna (born 2003), Helga Kjaran (born 2005), and Hildur (born 2010). His parents are Ármann Sveinsson (1946–1968) and Helga Kjaran (born 1947)
