Blue is the Warmest Colour is a French drama movie about korephilia. It was based on the 2010 French graphic novel Blue Angel.
The protagonist is a fifteen-year-old girl. She wants to become a teacher. Her life gets turned upside down when she meets with a blue-haired art student attending a nearby college with whom she has a lesbian romance.
The movie was first shown at the Cannes Film Festival on May 23, 2013. It was released in other places later that year. The movie was rated NC-17 (no children 17 and under admitted) for sexual content.
