Bohdan Sokolovskyi

Bohdan Ivanovych Sokolovskyi (12 April 1954, Oleksyntsi - 22 June 2021) was a Ukrainian physicist, politician, and diplomat.[1][2]

He was born on April 12, 1954 in the village of Oleksyntsi, Borshchiv district (now Chortkiv district), in the Ternopil region of Ukraine.

He graduated from the Faculty of Physics of Lviv University in 1976. He worked in the field of experimental physics of special materials and special technologies, in particular, in the laboratories of the University of Marburg and University of Chemnitz.

He was a member of People's Movement of Ukraine, and the Ukrainian People's Party.

From 1993 to 2004, he worked as a diplomat at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.[3] He worked in Germany, the United States, Austria, and was the head of the Department of Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

From 2008 to 2010, he was a Commissioner of the President of Ukraine for International Energy Security.[4]
