Bon Iver

Bon Iver is an American indie folk band. The band was started in Eau Claire in 2007 by Justin Vernon. The band has seven members. Their most well known song is "Skinny Love".

In 2007 they self released their first album, For Emma, Forever Ago. In 2008 the independent record label Jagjaguwar released it in the United States. It sold over 30,000 copies in its first three months. 4AD later released the album in the UK and Europe. The first single from the album was "Skinny Love". In 2008 Bon Iver designed a T-shirt for the Yellow Bird Project.[1]

In 2009 Bon Iver released their first EP Blood Bank. In 2011 they released their second album Bon Iver, Bon Iver. Pitchfork gave the album a score of 9.5 out of 10.[2] They chose it as the best album of 2011. The album won the Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album in 2012. In 2012 Bon Iver also won the Grammy for Best New Artist.[3] "Holocene" was nominated for Song of the Year and Record of the Year.[4]
