Alfred Jesse Smith (July 26, 1941 – January 3, 2025), also known as Brenton Wood, was an American singer-songwriter. He was known for his three 1967 hit singles, "The Oogum Boogum Song", "Gimme Little Sign" and "Baby You Got It".

Wood died at his home in Moreno Valley, California on January 3, 2025 at the age of 83.[1]
