Bridget Jones's Diary is a 2001 British American French romantic comedy movie directed by Sharon Maguire and based on the 1996 novel of the same name by Helen Fielding. It stars Renée Zellweger in her Oscar nominated role, Hugh Grant, Colin Firth, Jim Broadbent, Celia Imrie, James Faulkner, Shirley Henderson, James Callis, Ben Peyton, Donald Douglas, Embeth Davidtz, Felicity Montagu, Neil Pearson and was distributed by Miramax Films.
