Bronchitis is inflammation of the bronchi caused by irritation. It may also refer to acute bronchitis or chronic bronchitis. Bronchitis is an obstructive pulmonary disease. It can be caused by infection or other causes such as smoking, or being exposed to cigarettes.

  • Production of mucus (sputum), which can be clear, white, yellowish-gray or green in color — rarely, it may be streaked with blood
