Bruun's cutthroat eel

Bruun's cutthroat eel (Histiobranchus bruuni) is a cutthroat eel of the genus Histiobranchus. It is found around New Zealand at the bottom of the deep ocean basin at depths of between 4,000 and 5,000 meters.

It is the smallest cutthroat eel in the genus, and also in the whole family. Bruun's cutthroat eel is an eel that has a length between 40 and 60 cm. The fins are small.
