The Cairns Taipans are an Australian professional basketball team from Cairns, Queensland. The team plays in the National Basketball League (NBL).
The Cairns Taipans play their home games at the Cairns Convention Centre, which they gave the nickname "the Snakepit". They are the only not-for-profit team in the league.[1]
