Caldor Fire

The Caldor Fire was a wildfire burning in El Dorado County, California. It is about 15 miles (24 km) southeast of Placerville. By September 1, 2021, it had burned 204,390 acres with 20% containment.[1]

The Caldor Fire started on August 14, 2021, near Little Mountain, south of Pollock Pines in El Dorado County.[2]

About 1,003 buildings have been destroyed by the fire, mostly in the town of Grizzly Flats. Two people were injured in Grizzly Flats and were airlifted to hospital.[3]

By October 21, 2021, the fires have dissipated. However, the exact cause of the wildfires are still unknown.
