From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Chalchuihtlicue was the Aztec goddess of steams, rivers, lakes and fresh water. Her name means "she who wears a jade skirt". She also known as Matlalcueye "she who wears green skirt". In some stories it is believed that she was the wife of Tlaloc, the god of rain.

Chalchuihtlicue loves humans and she created the fourth sun. But, Tezcatlipoca told her that she was selfish. This made her cry and the fourth sun was destroyed by a big flood.
