Codex Sassoon

Codex Sassoon may refer to several different manuscripts or codices collected by David Solomon Sassoon.

Notable codices include:

  • Codex Sassoon 1053, more recently known as Codex S1, a 10th century Hebrew bible which in 2023 was put on commercial auction as the earliest complete Hebrew bible.[1]
  • Damascus Pentateuch, also known as Codex Sassoon 507, a 10th century copy of the Five Books of Moses.
