Cross Creek is a 1983 American biographical drama movie. It was directed by Martin Ritt. The movie is based on the 1942 memoir of the same name by Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings. Actors include Mary Steenburgen, Rip Torn, Peter Coyote, Dana Hill, Alfre Woodard, Malcolm McDowell, Jay O. Saunders, and Toni Hudson. It was distributed by Universal Pictures. It did not make very much money in ticket sales. It was nominated for 4 Academy Awards in 1984.
