Elmore Rual "Rip" Torn (born February 6, 1931) is an American movie, television, stage, and voice actor who is known for his role as Chief Zed in Men in Black and in Men in Black II. He won an Emmy Award in 1996.

Torn was born on February 6, 1931 in Temple, Texas.[1] He studied at A&M University. Torn was married to Ann Wedgeworth from 1955 until they divorced in 1961. Then he was married to Geraldine Page from 1963 until her death in 1987. He has been married to Amy Wright since 1989. He has six children.
