The Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex (officially called the Dallas–Fort Worth–Arlington, TX Metropolitan Statistical Area by the US Office of Management and Budget ) is a large metropolitan area of Texas which includes the 11 counties in the area.[ 1] Residents of the area also refer to it as the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex , DFW , or the Metroplex . It is the economic and cultural hub of the region. DFW is the largest inland metropolitan area in the United States .[ 2]
