Dynamo Dresden

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sportgemeinschaft Dynamo Dresden e.V. (usually just called SG Dynamo Dresden or Dynamo Dresden) is a professional association football club from Dresden, Saxony, Germany. They currently play in the 2. Bundesliga.

The club was founded on 12 April 1953 as a club affiliated with the East German police.[1] They became one of the most successful clubs in East Germany, winning 8 DDR-Oberliga titles.[2] After the German reunification, they played in the Bundesliga for a few seasons, but they have drifted between the 2. Bundesliga and the Regionalliga Nordost.[3]

Their main rivals are Berliner FC Dynamo, Lokomotive Leipzig, Chemnitzer, Sachsen Leipzig, Erzgebirge Aue and Dresdner. Also, their main colours are yellow and black (previously the colours were green and white).[1]
