El Vermeer is a Dutch former judoka. She was a member of the Dutch national team representing the Netherlands at international competitions.

Judo career[change | change source]

Vermeer was a judoka during the early years of women's judo.[2] She won the bronze medal at the 1978 European Judo Championships in Cologne. At other internaiontal tournaments she had eleven podium finishes between 1974 and 1980, including winning the Dutch Open in Kerkrade in 1978 and the International Tournament Heusenstamm in 1981.[3] She became five times national champion between 1975 and 1982 and had furthermore three other national championships podium achievements.[4][5]

Vermeer was a member of juco club BIMO and was trained by Peter Ooms.[6] She lived in Tilburg.[1]
