Object history
Deutsch: Der Schlägel und der Hammer sind Bergmannswerkzeuge und beziehen sich auf den Kupfer- und Eisenbergbau, der seit 1542 im Gemeindegebiet belegt ist und 1922 eingestellt wurde. Der Wellenbalken und das Eichenblatt stellen die geografische Lage der Gemeinde am Fluss Kahl und im Spessart dar. Die Farben Silber und Rot weisen auf die Zugehörigkeit Sommerkahls zum Kurfürstentum Mainz von 982 bis 1803.
