First Monday in October is a 1981 American comedy drama movie directed by Ronald Neame and based on the play of the same name by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee. It stars Walter Matthau, Jill Clayburgh, Barnard Hughes, Jan Sterling in her final feature movie role and was distributed by Paramount Pictures.
