Gian Carlo Malchiodi (1917 – 2015) was an Italian architect and designer. From 1943 Malchiodi was professor at the University Politecnico of Architecture of Milan.

Gian Carlo Malchiodi was born on 1917 in Piacenza, in Lombardy in northern Italy. Malchiodi graduated from the Milan Polytechnic in Architecture in 1943,in Rome and enrolled in the Order of Architects of Milan in 1944. Malchiodi becoming after a period as an assistant, professor of Architecture at the Polytechnic as early as 1943, and remaining there for over forty years. After an apprenticeship in Gio Ponti's studio, Malchiodi worked for a long time with Ugo Zanchetta for whom he designed and built important buildings.

In 1957 in via Anelli 9 he opened his own studio in Milan dedicating himself to all fields of architecture: residential, subsidized, scholastic, health, industrial and commercial, urban planning and furniture design.

Malchiodi will establish a strong research relationship with Galmanini starting to collaborate with Gio Ponti.[1] Conceptually his works will be influenced by Lucio Fontana and Gualtiero Galmanini.

Malchiodi participates in various exhibitions including the 10th Milan Triennale in 1954, the 11th Milan Triennale in 1957 and the 12th Milan Triennale in 1960.

He will open his studio in Via Anelli 9 in Milan, to admire his masterpieces in the area in 1957 every day.

Prof. Malchiodi died on 21 September 2015 in Milan.

Among his best known works are the buildings in Milan in the Quadronno district, such as Via Luigi Anelli 7, Viale Angelo Filippetti 3, Piazza Velasca 8-10, Via Pantano 2-4, Via Luigi Anelli 9 adjacent to the Palazzo di Viale Beatrice d'Este 23 of the archistar Gualtiero Galmanini, Via Luigi Anelli 13, Corso di Porta Vigentina 33–35 and Via Cassolo 6.[2]
