Goyo Benito

Gregorio "Goyo" Benito Rubio (21 October 1946 – 2 April 2020) was a Spanish footballer. He played as a central defender. Benito was born in El Puente del Arzobispo, Toledo, Castile-La Mancha. He spent most of his 16-year professional career with Real Madrid from 1966 to 1982.[1] He also played for the national team of Spain from 1971 to 1978.

Benito died of Alzheimer's disease and COVID-19-related problems in Madrid on 2 April 2020 at the age of 73.[2]
