Gyoji Matsumoto (松本 暁司, Matsumoto Gyoji, August 13, 1934 – September 2, 2019) was a former Japanese football player.[1]

He played one game for the Japan national football team in 1958.[1] He played at club level for Urawa Club.[1]

He later coached at Urawa Minami High School.[2] The manga Akakichi no Eleven was based on his team.[2][3]

He died of heart disease in Saitama, Saitama on September 2, 2019, aged 85.[2]
