A hate group is a group of people that want to hurt and be mean to other people. Hate groups usually are against people who are different from members of the group. This includes differences in ethnic group, religion, sex, and/or sexual orientation. The Ku Klux Klan and Neo-Nazis are examples of hate groups.

Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination prohibits participation to hate group and hate speech, as well as racial discrimination in Article 4.
