Hostomel (Ukrainian: Гостомель) is a city in Kyiv Oblast, northwest of the capital city of Kyiv.

Hostomel was badly damaged during the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine.[1] Russian troops lost a battle at the Hostomel airport. The city was given the title Hero City of Ukraine on 13 March 2022.[2]
