Human rights in Niger

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

According to the Republic of Niger's Constitution of 1999, most human rights, as defined by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, are upheld and protected. Same-sex sexual activity is legal in Niger but the age of consent is not equal for same-sex and opposite-sex sexual activity.[1] There is no legal protection against discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity.[2]
