Hyperion (tree)

Hyperion is the name of a coast redwood tree (Sequoia sempervirens) in California, United States. It is the world's tallest known living tree, measuring 116.07 m (380.8 ft).[1]

Hyperion is estimated to be 600 to 800 years old.[2] It was discovered on 25 August 2006, by naturalists Chris Atkins and Michael Taylor.[3] It was found in a remote area of Redwood National Park.
