Ilyushin Il-38 (Russian: Илью́шин Ил-38; NATO reporting name: May) is a Soviet maritime patrol aircraft and anti-submarine warfare produced by Ilyushin.

The Il-38 was a derivative of the large Ilyushin Il-18 transport aircraft/airliner. The Il-38 is different because it was modified for anti-submarine and maritime patrol jobs.^[1]
