Jadeja

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Jadeja (also spelled Jarejo or Jareja) (Gujarati: Jāḍejā[1]) is a Yaduvanshi Rajput clan which is a branch of the Chandravanshi lineage and claim to descent from Sambha (son of Lord Krishna and Jambawati).[2][3][4] Thus, Jadejas claim to be direct descendant of Lord Krishna.[5][6]

They ruled various parts of Gujarat, Rajasthan and Uttarpradesh states of India.[7][8][9] The royal Jadeja Rajput dynasty ruled major parts of present day Gujarat, notably the princely states of: Kutch, Nawanagar, Rajkot, Morvi, Gondal and Dhrol.[10][11][12]
