Javier Gonzales (1966 – February 9, 2022) was an American Democratic politician. He was the 42nd Mayor of Santa Fe, New Mexico from 2014 to 2018.[1] Gonzales was the city's first and only openly gay mayor.[2] He was chair of the Democratic Party of New Mexico from 2009 until 2013.[3]

Gonzales died from cancer at a hospital in Santa Fe on February 9, 2022, at the age of 55.[4]
