Jeremiah Wilson "Jay" Nixon (born February 13, 1956) is an American politician. He was the Governor of Missouri from 2009 to 2017. On January 12, 2009, he became Governor of the U.S. State of Missouri. He is a member of the Democratic Party of the United States.

Nixon's ancestor, John Inskeep, was mayor of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.[1]
