João Lyra

João José Pereira de Lyra (17 June 1931 – 12 August 2021) was a Brazilian businessman and politician. He was a Member of the Federal Senate from 1989 to 1991, and a Member of the Chamber of Deputies from 2003 to 2007, and from 2011 to 2015.[1] He was born in Recife, Brazil.

Lyra died on 12 August 2021 in Maceió, Brazil of problems caused by bronchopneumonia, aged 90.[2]
