Joseph Daniel "Joey" Votto (born September 10, 1983 in Toronto, Ontario) is a Canadian baseball player. He currently plays as a first baseman for the Cincinnati Reds of Major League Baseball.

He made his MLB debut for the Cincinnati Reds on September 4, 2007. In 2010, he won the National League MVP Award, the National League Hank Aaron Award, as well as the Lou Marsh Trophy which is awarded annually to Canada's top athlete of that year. He signed a 10-year, $225 million contract extension with Cincinnati, running through the 2024 season on April 2, 2012.[1]
