Jun Misawa

Jun Misawa (Japanese: 三沢淳 Misawa Jun; 1 October 1952 – 3 March 2022) was a Japanese baseball player and politician. He was a member of the New Frontier Party, the Liberal Party, and the New Conservative Party. He was in the House of Representatives from 1996 to 2000.[1] Misawa was born in Hamada, Japan. He played for the Chunichi Dragons and Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters baseball teams.

Misawa died at a hospital in Nagoya, Japan on 3 March 2022 from problems caused by mesothelioma, at the age of 69.[2]
