June Preston

June Preston (December 29, 1928 – May 11, 2022) was an American former child actress and singer. She worked with RKO Pictures in the 1930s. She played Mrs. Blewett's daughter in the 1934 movie Anne of Green Gables. When she got older, she became an opera singer. During her child acting career, she was called the "next Shirley Temple".[1]

Preston was born in Glendale, California and was raised in Temple, Texas. She studied at Seattle University.

Preston died on May 11, 2022 at her home in Montclair, New Jersey from problems caused by dementia, aged 93.[2]
