Junzo Sekine

Junzo Sekine (関根 潤三, Sekine Junzō, 15 March 1927 – 9 April 2020) was a Japanese professional baseball player. He played as a pitcher and outfielder. He played for the Kintetsu Pearls/Buffaloes from 1950 to 1964. He also played for the Yomiuri Giants during the 1965 season. He later managed the Yokohama Taiyo Whales from 1982 to 1984 and the Yakult Swallows from 1987 to 1989. He was added into the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame in 2003. He was born in Tokyo.

Sekine died on 9 April 2020 in Tokyo, at the age of 93.[1]
